About this event in the Jura in Poligny
Where geological history meets wine appreciation
Approximately 200 million years ago during the Triassic period, a shallow sea evaporated, leaving thick layers of salt trapped within the marl soils of what is now the Jura. This salt drove the prosperity of Salins for centuries, transported as brine along a 21-kilometer pipeline to the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans, now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Today, vineyards flourish upon these very same marls at the northern edge of the Jura wine region.
This evening invites you to trace the thread connecting local geology, history, and wine. Through stories of Rouget, Chamoz, and Saint-Vernier, guests will enjoy a guided selection of local Jura wines paired with regional appetizers.
The workshop is held in an intimate setting, strictly limited to ten participants. Payment can be made on-site by cash, check, or credit card.
